As the vibes of valentine’s day start to come, the unbiased opinions of people start to show. Valentine’s day bans by PEMRA every now and then due to this issue. It is the most controversial day of this community. Because a great part of people are practicing Muslims and this day hurts the sentiments of people when someone appreciates celebrating this day.
SENTIMENTS OF PEOPLE
People connect this issue to the Islamic Republic Of Pakistan that such a thing should not practice there. People also find it not okay to exchange gifts and cards to not so considerable relationship according to the Islamic point of view as Islam considers it as Haram.

With the difference of ages, we find dissimilar opinions and hearings. Some people support it and say that it is not bad to express your love. While some feel such statements problematic.
WHAT TEENAGERS SAY
The Teenagers seem so high and energetic on this day. According to statistics, only this part of the community celebrates it the most. Funny memes and posts on different social media platforms do circulate mainly to taunt the people of described age group.
But, It has nothing to do with Valentine’s day ban by PEMRA. Social media has far separate terms and conditions than the Electronic ones.
This teenage community is not so educated and not intelligent enough to cope up with the outcomes. They do it for fun purposes mainly with not so religious meaning in their minds but do follow it religiously though.

Adults do not actually love it neither hate. We see 2 types of people in this category too.
YOUNGSTERS WHO SUPPORT VALENTINE’S DAY
Such people do support this day and say that it is not bad to share some moments of love and laughter. Keep in mind that people are influenced by western culture and called liberals in our society. They all have positive approach on this day.
They call themselves the people of an open mind and we look towards progress. People do laugh at them when they try to use such terms.
Asim Azhar did not really talk about valentine’s day but he reflected the vision of that part of the community who are in favor to celebrate valentine’s sort of culture, Said on BBC interview.
YOUNGSTERS WHO DO NOT SUPPORT VALENTINE’S DAY
Such people don’t like to celebrate such things but don’t freak out when see such things happening around. Some don’t impose the decisions but try to make the people understand to not celebrate. The education systems and universities have introduced some trends from quite some years not to follow this event.
Such people do not find the answers suitable and they like the decision when valentine’s day gets a ban by any platform. Via Courts, Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (Pemra) or by any authorization.
MIDDLE AGE PEOPLE
who are middle-aged or have grown their hair grey don’t like it all. They call it the wastage of time. Such people usually have an Islamic school of thought. Statistics don’t find even 10% of the positive opinions from there.
TRENDS THAT PEOPLE ARE FOLLOWING FOR VALENTINE’S DAY BAN
Some trends and alternatives of that day have been introduced to stop the cause. Almost all of them support the cause whenever Valentine’s day bans by PEMRA.
Many universities and schools seem to create awareness about the issue.
An alternative introduced called “Haya Day” is observing that has a totally opposite frequency to valentine’s day.
In Agriculture University of Faisalabad “SISTERS DAY” celebrated to clearly contrary to valentine’s day.
These were all the things about social media where restrictions to express the point of view is less. Boundaries are broad. Social Media, however, plays the role of the WIN-WIN situation for both parties.
VALENTINE’S DAY BANS BY PEMRA STRAIGHT FROM SOME YEARS
In Television or Electronic Media, things do change and policies to show certain things are way too strict.
From some years in a row, we are watching PEMRA is banning Valentine’s Day to broadcast it on TV. The reason is that it violates the conception of people and the ratio is quite larger that they can not neglect.
The emotionalism of people sometimes breaks out on PEMRA that’s why it takes the decision not to show anything regarding Valentine’s day.
In 2017,2018 and 2019 in a row, We are watching this trend. Some people do appreciate the decision some seem not happy. In 2020, The decision is yet to take. People are assuming that in 2020 what step PEMRA going to take whether it would let the broadcasting happen or not.
BUSINESSES PEOPLE MAKE IN VALENTINE’S DAY
While Valentine’s day week is an overjoyed period of time for sellers. Especially the flowers and gifts are the main things everybody loves to buy.

Many online deliveries, Bake shops, and food delivery services do cash this day and offer a discount on Valentine’s day. Even these services had to stop by the fear of action by commandments.
Islamabad Authorities took an action regarding this and banned all the celebrations. In 2020, We can expect to do the same as they are doing from some past years.
PRINT MEDIA RESTRICTIONS FOR VALENTINE’S DAY BAN
Authorities imposed this decision on the print media too and even they were not allowed to publish something that gives the vibes to promote Valentine’s day.
Some famous personalities directly confronted and talked on this issue that it is not part of religion. It is the only reason we are watching this day banned.
On Valentine’s day, even police stay real watchful and attentive to catch such activities happening around. Most teenagers seem to keep on hiding and social media leaves no stone unturned to make fun of such incidents.
